Benfica dethroned... Benfica!


The new number of consecutive away wins in the Championship is a feat in the history of the competition!

Benfica under Bruno Lage challenges the stats, trends and breaks records like no other team in Portugal. With the triumph in the derby (0-2) the team has clinched 17 consecutive sways wins in the Liga NOS. A historic record!

The 17 triumphs as visitors in the Championship are a record in Portugal. The record began on January 11, 2019, the date in which Benfica traveled to the Azores to beat Santa Clara (0-2). Since then it has been over a year and Benfica clinched all three points in all the encounters held away from home in the Championship.

The previous records (16 wins) belonged to ... Benfica! In 2015/16 (the season of the third league title in a row), the first season of Rui Vitória as Benfica’s head coach, the eagles began a record of 16 triumphs in a row, which ended in the 2016/17 season (fourth league title in a row).
