Rui Vitória: “May the Benfiquistas leave Dragão pleased ”

The coach of Benfica launched the "clássico" against FC Porto in the press room of Estádio da Luz. Get the three points is the goal to dedicate to the supporters.

Rui Vitória, Benfica's coach, made the preview to the encounter of matchday 13 of the Liga NOS against FC Porto – which will take place on Friday, at 8:30 pm, at Estádio do Dragão – refusing that there is a favorite, but thinking about winning.

It is a classic of the Portuguese football with two great teams, with quality, any of the teams can win and the two teams will want to win. There are no favorites in this kind of match. There is a great ambition in this kind of matches. We are going to Porto to win. That is the goal of both teams”, he said.

“With these two teams on the pitch, with the quality of the player that will be on the pitch we cannot worry about other things. The message for parties involved in the match is to enjoy the game. May the Benfiquistas leave that ground pleased. The opponent has quality, they dropped points in the last game, but they have quality. That is the important thing”, he stressed.

Asked if he rather win or not lose, the coach was clear: "It is a game where there are three points at stake. We want to win, knowing what to do. We must realize when we can attack, when we must suffer, and when we can counterattack. On the other side is a team that also wants to win. "

A derby always moves the emotions differently from other games, but the motivation is always present in the Benfica squad.

A good result in a game like this is always important. But we are always motivated because to be at this club is to want to win constantly, is to get into our vault and work to overcome adversity... We must be ready for any opponent. May this FC Porto-Benfica be a well-played match, intense and with uncertainty in the outcome”, he wished.

Porto are always a tough team to beat, regardless of the moment of the season. This Friday will not be any different.

“FC Porto will be complicated, as they always are. It will be tough for Benfica and for FC Porto as well”, he said.
