The first set was very competitive and balanced. Two teams fighting for each point like it was the last one, but Benfica, motivated, ran away with the set at 25-18.
Pushed by the supporters, Benfica started strong the second set. The Russians tried to comeback but the efforts were just not enough. 25-23 and another win for the home team.
The third set was very balanced. Ties at 5-5 and 15-15 but the reds ended up achieving a 25-22 win, forcing the golden set!
In the golden set, Belgorod started better and managed to hold the lead until the end. A 12-15 win and the qualification for the “Semis”.

Diogo Gonçalves featured in Benfica's starting eleven against Boavista, in a match held at Estádio da Luz, for matchday 6 of the Liga Bwin. In a game in which he reached 50 matches for the eagles first team, he provided the assist for Darwin's goal, which opened the scoring in the 3-1 triumph. "I am very happy to have completed 50 games for Benfica's first team. May 50 more come, together with all of you! Thanks for the support", shared the defender, addressing the Benfiquistas.
