Eliminating Fenerbahçe: Benfica starts Champions League play-off at Luz


The draw of the last qualification phase for the Champions League group stage was held this morning in Nyon.

Benfica already knows that in case of beating Fenerbahçe in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League, it will play the first leg of the Champions league play-off (21st or 22nd of August) at the Estádio da Luz. That was the result of the draw held this Monday in Nyon.

Going past the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League against Fenerbahçe (August 7, at the Estádio da Luz, and August 14, in Turkey), the Eagles will face in the play-off the winner of the clash between Spartak Moscow and PAOK.

The play-off matches already have scheduled dates. The first leg matches take place on the 21st and 22nd of August, while the encounters of the second leg take place on August 28 and 29. The winners of the play-off go through to the Champions League group stage, and the Reds already know that reaching there, they will be in pot 2.
