João Félix makes his debut as a starter in the Champions League

He was the fourth player launched by Rui Vitória in Benfica's starting XI at the competition.

At the age of 19, a month and three days, João Félix made his debut as a starter in the Champions League on Wednesday.

In the home match against the Greeks of AEK (1-0) – which marked the Reds farewell to the 2018/19 Champions League–, the young forward was fielded as a starter time on the left side of the attack, after having played in the two matches against PAOK (play-off), and he now is part of the list of the youngest players to make their debut as starters for Benfica.

By the hand of Rui Vitória, João Félix is the fourth young player, according to the data from the platform Playmaker Stats, to make his debut in the most important European Club competition, after Gonçalo GuedesRenato Sanches (both in 2015, in the match against Astana) and Svilar (in 2017, in the home match against Manchester United).
