Grimaldo: "Well-deserved win"

The Spanish full-back scored the goal – a stoppable free-kick – that sealed Benfica's triumph over AEK.

Sport Lisboa e Benfica and AEK Athens locked horns on Wednesday evening, in the match from Group E of the Champions League. The Reds transfer to the Europa League where they will be a seeded team on Monday's draw.

In the match analysis, the scorer of the goal from the Reds highlighted the way how the team changed from the first to the second half, more aggressiveness, which eventually led to more opportunities... and the goal!

"In the first half we lacked some aggressiveness, in the second half we were more aggressive, we were able to create opportunities and score a goal. We are united and now we have to start looking at the weekend because we will have a difficult match. We deserved more in the Champions League, we amassed seven points, but now we must think about the Europa League and the Championship. It was a well-deserved win and important for the team", stressed the left-back.

In a fantastic free-kick execution, Grimaldo scored Benfica's winner at 88’.

"I was lucky! The ball went in, there are days in which it does not go in, today it did, they are three points, a very important win", he concluded.
