SL Benfica won the Cândido Oliveira Super Cup, after beating Sporting by 5-0 at Estádio Algarve. Pizzi scored two goals, provided an assist and was considered the Man of the Match.

“Before talking about me and Rafa, I think the most important thing is to praise the work of the entire team from the first minute. I think we were clearly superior to Sporting. Sporting have a great team, players with a lot of quality, but we were superior, with and without ball, and that was shown in the scoreboard. It was a great victory, a fair victory. Congratulate the entire team, not only on the preseason that we did, but on this game that was really great”, claimed Pizzi.

The number 21 also remembered the importance of the supporters.

“I would also like to praise these fantastic fans who supported us from the first minute. We won the first trophy and hopefully it will be the first of many this season”, stressed the midfielder.
