Born in Gafanha da Nazaré, Gil Dias began his football career at his hometown club. He stood out and moved to Sporting, where he played for a season, traveling, then, to São João da Madeira. He spent five seasons at Sanjoanense, and in 2013/14, he transferred to SC Braga.
In his first season with SC Braga, he won the U-19 National Championship and played in Braga B until the French side of Monaco signed him in 2014/15, to whom he remained linked until 2020/21, alternating between the first team, B team, and loans.
He represented, on loan, Varzim (2015/16), Rio Ave (2016/17), where he had his best season and where he had the opportunity to debut in UEFA competitions (Europa League), and also Fiorentina (2017/18), Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos (2018/19), Granada (2019/20) and Famalicão (2020/21).
