A product of Caixa Futebol Campus, the centre-back Rúben is already a pivotal player at Benfica. He took part in the U-20 and in the Senior World Cup and he is an international for Portugal’s senior national team.

One of the major figures of the new cycle of the Portuguese national team which started after the 2018 World
Cup in Russia, Rúben already won the Nations League, a competition in which he featured in the best eleven
and was named the Man of the Match of the final against the Netherlands.
