Dr. José Antunes dos Santos was the “helmsman” of another brilliant management, with repercussion to the
following years.
In his management, after being the Assembly Vice-president in the two previous mandates, the Football team
became, for the second time, in 1915/16, Lisboa champion in the four categories, the third time that we won
all titles (in 1909/10 there were only three categories). International matches were arranged in Sete Rios
and the Tennis, Swimming and Water Polo facilities were getting better. In 1916, Cosme Damião, at the age of
30 (11 years as a footballer), said goodbye to his player career, moving on as General-Captain, and as an
administrator/football manager combined role.
