Benfica ends the 2017/18 season with the conquest of the Portuguese Cup, being the National Championship runner-up, where it fought until the least point and lost the fifth game against Sporting, this after having opened the season as the runner-up of the Super Cup, where it was defeated by against Sporting de Espinho. It is worth highlighting the the European journey in the Challenge Cup, where José Jardim's men was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the competition, against Bunge Ravenna, from Italy.
