The tradition has been fulfilled...

Through the Benfica Foundation, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's professional football team distributed several presents to mark the Christmas season. At the Centro de Educação e Desenvolvimento D. Maria Pia, in Lisbon, more than 100 children were sponsored, and 15 of them were able to make a video call with players Pizzi and André Almeida. At the Centro Comunitário de Santa Marta de Corroios more than two dozen children also received presents, as well as about 50 families being blessed with food baskets. Special was also the conversation, by video call, with footballers Gilberto and Everton. The "Benfica Solidário" continues to bring smiles to those who need it most.

Benfica, under Nélson Veríssimo, held on the morning of Monday, at Benfica Campus, the last training session before the departure to Leiria, where it will play the semi-final of the League Cup, against Boavista, scheduled for this Tuesday, January 25, at 7:45 pm. Henrique Araújo, the Benfica B forward, was called up to work with the first team. Absent were Otamendi and Darwin, called up for the national teams of Argentina and Uruguay, respectively, as well as the injured Lucas Veríssimo, Rodrigo Pinho and Seferovic.
