Neno, three-time National Champion with Benfica (1986/87, 1990/91 and 1993/94), passed away at the age of 59, in the evening of July 10, Day of Portugal. The former goalkeeper had two spells at the Glorioso, from 1985 to 1987 and from 1990 to 1995. He made his official debut on November 17, 1986,and, among his successes with the eagle on his chest, to which he contributed with eternal saves, there are also three Portuguese Cups (1985/86, 1986/87 and 1992/93). Forever in our memory!
