This Tuesday, May 27, the Benfica Foundation and Sport Lisboa e Benfica marked World Children's Day with the participation of more than 1,500 young people.  Between the Estádio da Luz pitch and the pavilions, there were fun, educational and sporting activities, with the contribution of the various sports and the partners of the Club and the Foundation. Lively, with everything designed to stimulate the children and provide them with different experiences, this was a “very special” moment, as Jorge Miranda, director of the Foundation, told BTV. "We couldn't miss the opportunity to have an unforgettable day," he said. Representing the Almeirim Karting Circuit, Tiago Evaristo stressed the importance of “road education”. The joy, conviviality and importance of the Benfica Football Schools National Meeting continues to be felt year after year. On Saturday, May 17, the 1st day of the 18th edition of the event– which runs until Sunday - took place at the Estádio da Luz. A weekend full of emotions for the nearly 7,000 students from the 46 schools involved, who will have the opportunity to play in the Cathedral. In total, 635 teams will be in action and 1,316 matches will be played, in days of lots of football and excitement. The happiness on the youngsters' faces says it all! See the best images...

On Tuesday afternoon, May 20, Benfica's professional football team trained at the Estádio Nacional, the venue for the Portuguese Cup final. In preparation for the clash, concentration and intensity were visible in the first 15 minutes of the training session, which was open to the media and whose best images you can see here. Benfica-Sporting is scheduled to kick off at 5:15 pm on Sunday, May 25, at Jamor.

Roger Schmidt opened the gates of the training session for the first time since he arrived at Benfica. In front of 23 470 spectators (record in a training session at the Stadium), the team showed the work done in the first week of the pre-season and played a high intensity match.
