This Tuesday, May 27, the Benfica Foundation and Sport Lisboa e Benfica marked World Children's Day with the participation of more than 1,500 young people.  Between the Estádio da Luz pitch and the pavilions, there were fun, educational and sporting activities, with the contribution of the various sports and the partners of the Club and the Foundation. Lively, with everything designed to stimulate the children and provide them with different experiences, this was a “very special” moment, as Jorge Miranda, director of the Foundation, told BTV. "We couldn't miss the opportunity to have an unforgettable day," he said. Representing the Almeirim Karting Circuit, Tiago Evaristo stressed the importance of “road education”. The joy, conviviality and importance of the Benfica Football Schools National Meeting continues to be felt year after year. On Saturday, May 17, the 1st day of the 18th edition of the event– which runs until Sunday - took place at the Estádio da Luz. A weekend full of emotions for the nearly 7,000 students from the 46 schools involved, who will have the opportunity to play in the Cathedral. Striking, impactful and very beautiful! On the Saturday of the derby at the Estádio da Luz, Jonas returned home once again and, before the starting whistle and at half-time of the Benfica-Sporting match on matchday 33 of the Liga Betclic, he was on the pitch, being greeted and cherished by the more than 63,000 fans in the stands. "Thank you all for your love and respect! Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.

Two-time European champion, synonymous with the Sport Lisboa e Benfica mystique, José Augusto was honored on Sunday, April 13, the day of his 88th birthday. During half-time of the Benfica-Arouca match, on matchday 29 of the Liga Betclic, he was applauded by the Benfiquistas and thanked for the gesture from the Presidential Tribune. There, in the box, in the presence of President Rui Costa, among José Augusto's friends and family, Happy Birthday was sung to one of the undeniable names in the history of the Glorioso.
