The President of Sport Lisboa e Benfica celebrates his 53rd anniversary this Saturday, March 29. On this same day, in 1972, Rui Costa was born, the child who became a man, with his passion for Benfica always present, in a personal and professional career that has made him a key figure in the Club. A lifetime of dedication to the Glorioso, from a young academy player to a world-renowned footballer, and today he's in charge of Benfica's plans. Happy birthday, Maestro!

In the year that Eusébio da Silva Ferreira would have celebrated his 83rd birthday, a young man with the same name carries the King's name on his back. Born in 2014 and named after the greatest figure in Benfica's history, who had left six months earlier, Eusébio da Silva Vicente, who was also brought into the world in Mozambique, is inspired by the Black Panther's legacy to make his way through Benfica's youth system. Striking, impactful and very beautiful! On the Saturday of the derby at the Estádio da Luz, Jonas returned home once again and, before the starting whistle and at half-time of the Benfica-Sporting match on matchday 33 of the Liga Betclic, he was on the pitch, being greeted and cherished by the more than 63,000 fans in the stands. "Thank you all for your love and respect! I have a lot of love and gratitude for the Club", said Pistolas.

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.

Two-time European champion, synonymous with the Sport Lisboa e Benfica mystique, José Augusto was honored on Sunday, April 13, the day of his 88th birthday. During half-time of the Benfica-Arouca match, on matchday 29 of the Liga Betclic, he was applauded by the Benfiquistas and thanked for the gesture from the Presidential Tribune. There, in the box, in the presence of President Rui Costa, among José Augusto's friends and family, Happy Birthday was sung to one of the undeniable names in the history of the Glorioso.

This Wednesday marks the 77th anniversary of the birth of Sven-Göran Eriksson, one of the mythical coaches of Sport Lisboa e Benfica's centenary history.  An outstanding professional, he managed the Glorioso for five seasons (1982/83 and 1983/84, and 1989/90 to 1991/92) and revolutionized Portuguese football - leaving a legacy of innovation and titles. This February 5 is a day marked by eternal nostalgia for the man who passed away on August, 26, 2024.

An unforgettable and "very beautiful" day for Sven-Göran Eriksson, the coach who led Benfica for five seasons (1982/83 to 1983/84 and 1989/90 to 1991/92) and who was honored on Thursday, April 11, at the Estádio da Luz, before and during the Benfica-Marseille match in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals. Former Benfica players, who were coached by the Swedish coach, joined in the tribute, from the "training camp" in a hotel to the Cathedral, where more than 50,000 Benfica fans showed their gratitude and appreciation!
