Benfica said goodbye to the 2024/25 edition of the Champions League on Tuesday night, March 11. Needing to turn the tie around in Catalonia after a 0-1 draw at Estádio da Luz, the Eagles were beaten 3-1 to end their participation in the competition, which was the debut of a new format, with honor and their heads held high. In the two legs of the Champions League last 16, Barcelona won 4-1 on aggregate.

The joy, conviviality and importance of the Benfica Football Schools National Meeting continues to be felt year after year. On Saturday, May 17, the 1st day of the 18th edition of the event– which runs until Sunday - took place at the Estádio da Luz. A weekend full of emotions for the nearly 7,000 students from the 46 schools involved, who will have the opportunity to play in the Cathedral. At the Estádio da Luz, Benfica battled for victory until the last second against Sporting in the 33rd and penultimate matchday of the Liga Betclic 2024/25,but ended up having to share the points (1-1).
