An unforgettable Children's Day
This Tuesday, May 27, the Benfica Foundation and Sport Lisboa e Benfica marked World Children's Day with the participation of more than 1,500 young people. Between the Estádio da Luz pitch and the pavilions, there were fun, educational and sporting activities, with the contribution of the various sports and the partners of the Club and the Foundation. Lively, with everything designed to stimulate the children and provide them with different experiences, this was a “very special” moment, as Jorge Miranda, director of the Foundation, told BTV. "We couldn't miss the opportunity to have an unforgettable day," he said. Representing the Almeirim Karting Circuit, Tiago Evaristo stressed the importance of “road education”. Benfica-Sporting: extended match highlights
In a match in which they had a penalty and a goal in their favor (it would have been 2-0...) reversed by the VAR, and also saw the post deny them a goal (Pavlidis' shot) and were hindered by the refereeing in relevant plays, Benfica conceded the equalizer (1-1) in the 11th minute (!) of stoppage time (90'+11'). Then, in extra time, they lost (1-3) the Portuguese Cup final against Sporting on Sunday afternoon, May 25, at the Estádio Nacional in Jamor.

With a 27-19, the Eagles won the 9th trophy of the women's handball Portuguese Cup in the Club's history. Sunday, May 25, saw the 2025 Portuguese Cup final between Benfica and Sporting. At the Estadio Nacional, with a spectacular crowd in attendance, the Eagles had to go to extra time (1-3) after Kökcü (47') and Gyokëres (90'+11' pk) had drawn the derby in regulation time (1-1).
Determination to win the 27th Portuguese Cup
On Saturday, May 24, Benfica's professional football team held another training session at the Benfica Campus with a view to the derby with Sporting at the Estadio Nacional. The Portuguese Cup final clash is scheduled for Sunday, May 25, at 5:15 pm.
Preparation on stage for the final
On Tuesday afternoon, May 20, Benfica's professional football team trained at the Estádio Nacional, the venue for the Portuguese Cup final. In preparation for the clash, concentration and intensity were visible in the first 15 minutes of the training session, which was open to the media and whose best images you can see here. An enriching visit
Ruy Castelo Branco, director of the Benfica Residential Academy, and Adriano Laaber, coach of the Benfica Residential Academy women's team, visited the Benfica Campus on Tuesday, May 20, where they had the opportunity to follow the daily activities. "The main objective of the academy is to develop the athlete with the Benfica methodology and combine the academic part with the athletic part," Ruy Castelo Branco told BTV. “Feeling and experiencing this on a daily basis, especially the energy of the Benfica Campus, is enriching,” he said, noting that the goal is to continue cementing the Club's values in the United States.
Another special night at the Benfica Museum - Cosme Damião
On Friday, May 16, the European Night of Museums took place at the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião, which was free to enter between 6 pm and midnight and welcomed 1,166 visitors.
