In the light of the public news, based on false and distorted information, it is very important to clarify that it has never existed, or exists, any attempt to condition the refereeing or the Organs of Sports Justice, by Sport Lisboa e Benfica. 

None of those actions have never occurred. 

As a matter of fact, this current campaign against SL Benfica, based on criminal practices, which will be properly judged and sanctioned, is, itself, the real attempt to condition the referees and the justice.

The recent history, of the meant to be advocates of Justice and transparency, is more than enough to destroy the credibility of their fake statements.

 The Sport Lisboa e Benfica reaffirms that, in the proper places, has been taking actions in order to safeguard its reputation and the replacement of the truth.

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
