Women's Futsal is National Champion!

In a pavilion full of "Benfiquistas", the achievement of the most important title. Fourth trophy of the 2016/17 season, after Taça de Honra of AFL (Honor Cup), Super Cup and Portuguese Cup. Something unique in Women's Futsal.

Benfica was very strong against Golpilheira, 7^th in this final stage, with only 9 points won, and 25 behind the eagles.

At the halftime, Benfica was already leading the result by five: Ana Sofia (3’), Janice Silva (4’), Rafaela Dal’Maz (8’), Maria Pereira (8’) and Sara Ferreira (10’). 

On the second half, the players were seeking more goals, while the supporters were already celebrating. But, on the field, the girls were still giving their best. With humility, commitment, work and great respect for the opponent from Batalha, we closed the match. Ana Sofia, Inês Fernandes and an own-goal have completed the scorer.

“It is an unique moment, these players are awesome. They did something impossible… until now. It’s the sixth title of this team. They are unparalleled”, said the coach Bruno Fernandes, to BTV.

"We worked hard, every week, in order to achieve these goals, four trophies, best attack, best defense, it was impossible to do better", he analyzed.

"Very happy. We were apprehensive because we wanted this title so much. But we always believed and it's fantastic to be celebrating. I can proudly say that I'm the captain of the best team in the country", said the captain Inês Fernandes.
