Two match held, this Wednesday, in the Confederations Cup, with two "Benfiquistas" being determinant in their respective teams.
Portugal beat Russia, 1-0, in Moscow, with a Cristiano Ronaldo's unstoppable header (8’). The SL Benfica's athlete, Eliseu, entered at 65’ to replace Raphael Guerreiro, while Nélson Semedo and Pizzi remained on the bench.
In the second match of Grupo A, Mexico joined Portugal in the 1st position, after beating New Zealand, 2-1. With Raúl in the starting eleven, the Mexican Team was losing at the halftime (Wood's goal, at 42’), but on the second half, a brilliant goal of the Benfica's striker (54’) and Peralta (73’), completed the turnaround.
The two teams play again on Saturday, June 24th, at 4pm. Mexico VS Russia and Portugal VS New Zealand, both depending on themselves to reach the Semis.
