Gonçalo Guedes left Benfica a year ago with two goals

Gonçalo Guedes scored his last two goals with the eagle on the chest on January 10th 2017. On that day, Benfica went to Estádio D. Afonso Henriques for another League Cup’s match (group stage), against Vitória de Guimarães, and won it by 0-2, as the young forward, trained in Caixa Futebol Campus, was decisive with two successful shots.

15 days later, Gonçalo Guedes was already in Paris and, key player of a sensational transfer – was the European most valuable U21 in the winter transfer market –, was officially presented by PSG.

The Benfica's former athlete played at our club for three incomplete seasons, with a total of 68 matches and six titles: 3 National Championships (2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17), 2 League Cups (2014/15, 2015/16), 1 Portuguese Cup (2016/17) and 1 Super Cup (2016).

Loaned by PSG, Gonçalo Guedes shines in the Spanish League, since September, with Valencia’s jersey, of which coach, Marcelino García Toral, intends to sign him. “We're lucky to have Guedes on the team.  He is a tremendous player, an enormous footballer. I already know him since he was playing at Benfica. We'll try to keep him with us”, assumed the Spanish coach.
