The Portugal National Under-19 team carried out, on January 15 and 17, two friendly matches against Turkey, which they won by 2-1 and 4-0, respectively.

The Benfiquista, José Gomes, Portugal's captain in the second encounter, held at Cidade do Futebol, opened the scoring, with a penalty kick, at 36’.

Benfica was represented by four footballers. Apart from José Gomes, who only played in the second encounter, a mention to Florentino, Nuno Santos and João Félix who played in both encounters, the first took place at Estádio Nacional.

In March, the Under-19 will lock horns with Kosovo and Slovakia in the qualifier for the Under-19 European Championships.
