Garrett McNamara, renowned American surfer, was one of the 53 828 spectators who watched, at Estádio da Luz, the Benfica's victory (5-1) over Rio Ave, in the Matchweek 21 of Liga NOS.

At the halftime, Garrett came down from the Presidential Box right to the center of the pitch, where he was paid a tribute and interviewed.

Applauded by "wonderful supporters", as he described the Benfiquista crowd when he first came to Luz in September 2013, Garrett McNamara was also a part of the Red Wave which led the team to a clear victory on the second half, due to a great performance.

In an emotional match 5 that only ended in black, the Eagles triumphed 3-2 thus winning this frantic play-off final by the same score. 50 years after their last victory, the Benfica Museum - Cosme Damião once again received the trophy for the National Women's Volleyball Championship. Liga BPI | Cristina Prieto receives trophy for Best Player

Elected Best Player of the Liga BPI 2024/25 in the vote organized by the Players' Union, Cristina Prieto, Benfica's women's football team, received the trophy at Benfica Campus. Grateful for the distinction, the Spanish international told BTV about her “good season” and didn't forget the rest of the Reds' players. "It's an individual award and I couldn't have won it without my teammates. It was the team that made me win this award," said the goalscorer, who is in her first season at the club. "You never think the first year will be like this. I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me and the Benfiquistas. It's an award that shows that the season went well," said Cristina Prieto, an important element in winning the Fifth League Title in a row.

Pavlidis reaches 50 games with an eagle on his chest

Pavlidis reached his 50th appearance for Benfica's professional football team in the 1-2 over Estoril, on matchday 32 of the Liga Betclic, on May 3. The Greek international, signed at the start of the 2024/25 season, has 28 goals and 10 assists in the games he has played, in around 3,290 minutes of use. The No14 has 32 games and 18 goals in the Liga Betclic, 12 games and 7 goals in the Champions League, 3 games and 1 goal in the Portuguese Cup, as well as 3 games and 2 goals in the League Cup.

This Sunday, May 4, Benfica Campus' Field No. 1 was the stage for celebrating the 26th national Under-19 title. Needing just one point to celebrate, Benfica's U19 team became champions after a 2-2 draw against FC Porto in round 13 of the championship round, and lifted the trophy on the pitch, celebrating afterward with the fans who were tireless in their support for Luís Araújo's team.
