Benfica lost, this Wednesday, against Ravenna, by 3-1, in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup. With this result, the situation is now more difficult, but nothing is lost yet.  

The team commanded by José Jardim – which was very close to win this competition back in 2014/2015, losing only on the final against Vojvodina – has now a complicated task. 

In order to go through the next round and reach the "semis", the reds are forced to win by 3-0 or 3-1 and even to win the golden set.

The match of all decisions is scheduled for February 28th, at 8:30 pm, at Pavilion 2 of Luz.

Under-23: images from the victory of the 1st Revelação Cup

Telma Monteiro's donation to the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião

An icon of Benfica and Portuguese judo, Telma Monteiro donated the kimono she wore in her last competition for the club, specifically the National Club Championship in October 2024, which earned her the women's title, to the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião. The judoka also donated the belt she wore during her last Olympic cycle. “It's the place where it makes the most sense to stay, leaving a little of my legacy, preserving my history with Benfica,” said Telma Monteiro.

An unforgettable Children's Day

This Tuesday, May 27, the Benfica Foundation and Sport Lisboa e Benfica marked World Children's Day with the participation of more than 1,500 young people.  Between the Estádio da Luz pitch and the pavilions, there were fun, educational and sporting activities, with the contribution of the various sports and the partners of the Club and the Foundation. Lively, with everything designed to stimulate the children and provide them with different experiences, this was a “very special” moment, as Jorge Miranda, director of the Foundation, told BTV. "We couldn't miss the opportunity to have an unforgettable day," he said. Representing the Almeirim Karting Circuit, Tiago Evaristo stressed the importance of “road education”. Benfica-Sporting: extended match highlights

In a match in which they had a penalty and a goal in their favor (it would have been 2-0...) reversed by the VAR, and also saw the post deny them a goal (Pavlidis' shot) and were hindered by the refereeing in relevant plays, Benfica conceded the equalizer (1-1) in the 11th minute (!) of stoppage time (90'+11'). Then, in extra time, they lost (1-3) the Portuguese Cup final against Sporting on Sunday afternoon, May 25, at the Estádio Nacional in Jamor.

Having celebrated their fourth national championship, Benfica met Madeira SAD on Sunday, May 25, in the final of the Portuguese Cup. With a 27-19, the Eagles won the 9th trophy of the women's handball Portuguese Cup in the Club's history.
