No, it is not a mistake. Distinguished with the Golden Ball on December 28th, 1965, Eusébio da Silva Ferreira only received the trophy on March 9, 1966.

Precisely 52 year ago, it was taking place at the old Estádio da Luz the match of European Cup quarter-finals between Benfica and Manchester United. At home, in front of nearly 75 thousand spectators, Eusébio – at the time with only 22 years – would received the prize in person and would become the first Portuguese to be distinguished by the France Football magazine

To this day, the former Benfica forward and the great name of world football is still the only Portuguese player to receive the award while representing a Portuguese club.
