Emílio Peixe, the U-16 national coach, called-up eight Benfica’s players for the 46th edition of the Montaigu International Tournament. The club of Luz is the most represented in the squad list.

Famana Quizera, Filipe Cruz, Henrique Pereira, Paulo Bernardo, Pedro Silva, Rafael Brito, Samuel Soares and Tomás Araújo are the youngsters called by the coach for this competition.

SIX IN THE U-15 TEAM

Portugal is going to face, in Group A, the national teams of France (March 27th), Argentina (29) and Haiti (31). The Group B is composed by Brazil, Cameroon, England and Russia.

Preparing for a new clash

Benfica's professional football team began preparations for their clash with Auckland City on Friday, June 20, at 12 noon (5:00 pm continental time) at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, on matchday 2 of Group C of the 2025 Club World Cup with a two 30-minute halves training match against FC Naples on Tuesday, June 17. Under-17: celebrating the third consecutive championship title

Benfica's Under-17s beat FC Porto on Sunday, June 15, on matchday 18 of the National Championship and won the 3rd consecutive league title in the competition and the 22nd in the club's history. At Benfica Campus Field No. 1, Tomás Soares (45'+1') and José Neto (54') scored the goals that gave the Eagles a 2-1 victory. For the first time in the same season, the Under-19, Under-17, and Under-15 teams have won their respective championships: it is a historic achievement for the Club in youth football!
