Gonçalo Guedes is nowadays one of the big names of Valencia's attack, but it was at Benfica that he grew as a player and it was with the eagles' jersey that, seizing the opportunities, he propelled to other stages, reaching the Portugal National football team. On Sunday, at 6:00 pm, he will suffer off the pitch, cheering for the Four-time champions in the clash with FC Porto.

"I will watch the match, I know Benfica is going to put in a good performance [at Estádio da Luz]", said Valencia's number 7, in statements to the Official Site.

"The players of Benfica will be focused, especially because they reached the top sport and they don't want to lose it", added Gonçalo Guedes, supporting his opinion in relation to the most important encounter of round 30 of the Liga NOS.

The former attacker of Benfica admits that, on Sunday afternoon, his heart will beat faster for his favorite club. "I have great expectations, especially because I am a Benfica fan and I want Benfica to win", finished Guedes.

Telma Monteiro's donation to the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião

An icon of Benfica and Portuguese judo, Telma Monteiro donated the kimono she wore in her last competition for the club, specifically the National Club Championship in October 2024, which earned her the women's title, to the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião. The judoka also donated the belt she wore during her last Olympic cycle. “It's the place where it makes the most sense to stay, leaving a little of my legacy, preserving my history with Benfica,” said Telma Monteiro.

An unforgettable Children's Day

This Tuesday, May 27, the Benfica Foundation and Sport Lisboa e Benfica marked World Children's Day with the participation of more than 1,500 young people.  Between the Estádio da Luz pitch and the pavilions, there were fun, educational and sporting activities, with the contribution of the various sports and the partners of the Club and the Foundation. Lively, with everything designed to stimulate the children and provide them with different experiences, this was a “very special” moment, as Jorge Miranda, director of the Foundation, told BTV. "We couldn't miss the opportunity to have an unforgettable day," he said. Representing the Almeirim Karting Circuit, Tiago Evaristo stressed the importance of “road education”. Benfica-Sporting: extended match highlights

In a match in which they had a penalty and a goal in their favor (it would have been 2-0...) reversed by the VAR, and also saw the post deny them a goal (Pavlidis' shot) and were hindered by the refereeing in relevant plays, Benfica conceded the equalizer (1-1) in the 11th minute (!) of stoppage time (90'+11'). Then, in extra time, they lost (1-3) the Portuguese Cup final against Sporting on Sunday afternoon, May 25, at the Estádio Nacional in Jamor.
