Victoria Kaminskaya will represent Sport Lisboa e Benfica. The 22-year-old swimmer arrives from Estrelas S. João de Brito to join the Olympic Project.

The young Portuguese – born in Russia, but living in Portugal for 14 years now – made her debut in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games with the time of 4.46,03 minutes, in the second heat of the women's 400 meters Medley qualifier, her third-best mark ever, finishing in the 28th position.

In March this year, Victoria Kaminskaya reached, in the 200 meters breaststroke, the time standards for the European Long Course Swimming Championships, which will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, between August 3 and 9.

Diogo Ribeiro welcomed in euphoric mood

World champion in the 50 and 100 meter butterfly, Diogo Ribeiro landed in Lisbon on Monday morning, February 19. In the arrivals area of Humberto Delgado Airport, the Benfica swimmer heard shouts of congratulations and encouragement, and spoke to journalists about his "dream" in Doha (Qatar) and his goals for the future. "Until I reach the Olympic medal, I won't stop working," said the athlete, with the two gold medals on his chest, before thanking Benfica for their support: "President Rui Costa's message was the most special, because it's the club that supports me and gives me all the conditions to be who I am today."
