Benfica's U-19 are one win away from the national title

In last weekend's Matchweek, João Tralhão's team extended its lead over second place in the championship round to seven points.

With goals from João Félix (2) and João Filipe, the Under-19 from Benfica beat, on Saturday, Sporting by 3-1 in Matchweek 11 of the championship round and given Braga's draw (2nd placed) in Sunday's match, they bolstered the top sport.

Benfica now has a seven-point lead over the second placed when there are only three rounds left to play. This means that Benfica is just one win away from becoming the U-19 national champion.

The team led by João Tralhão has the chance of winning the title in the next round (May 19th, at 5:00 pm), in the clash with Leixões, at the Caixa Futebol Campus.

In 11 rounds played in this championship round, Benfica is the only team without defeats, racking up 8 wins and 3 draws24 goals scored and only 9 conceded (it has the best defense of the competition).

If the young eagles are being a topic of conversation as a team, on an individual level there also also players who have not gone noticed, as is the case of João Félix, who leads the top scorers list in this championship round, with 14 goals, having an average of 1,40 goals per game and six “braces” in 10 matches.

With the Championship in the final stretch, Benfica will host Leixões and União de Leiria and in between has a trip to SC Braga's home ground.
