Fejsa unbeatable in tackles and interceptions

A pendulum in the Benfica squad, Ljubomir Fejsa was the midfielder who made more tackles and interception in the Liga NOS in the 2017/18 season.

With a reading of the game above average, which allows him to anticipate plays before the opponent executes them, Fejsa was unbeatable in these relevant defensive actions. The midfielder finished the Championship with 101 tackles, according to the statistics of the site Sofascore.com.

Working as a true wall that defends the goal, the efficiency stopping the opponents’ attacks is seen in the interceptions chapter. Fejsa ended the I Liga with a total of 64 interceptions in 28 matches (an average of 2,29 per game).

The holding-midfielder is not only fundamental in the defensive balances he creates, but also starting Benfica's build-up plays. Among the footballers who play in the midfield, he was the second midfielder with more accurate own half passes (813), having racked up 1359 accurate passes, with an accuracy of  90%. The 546 accurate passes he delivered in the opposing half prove his range in the football pitch.
