Kalaica, the centre-back from Benfica's professional football squad, celebrates his 20th birthday this Friday.

The Croatian defends the colors of Benfica since the Summer of 2016, after ending his connection with Dynamo Zagreb. Kalaica had just turned 18.

The defender ended his first season with an eagle on his chest with a flourish: on May 20, 2017, the defender made his debut in the starting XI in the benfiquista squad in the last round of the Liga NOS. The visit to Boavista was of celebration, with the fourth consecutive league title already secured. In the dying moments of the match, after a corner kick, Kalaica scored the 2-2 with a header. The goal was the icing on the cake.

In the 2017/18 season, the Croatian U-19 international had the opportunity to play in a regular basis in the center of the B team's defense, for whom he made 24 matches, totaling 2000 minutes played and two goals scored.
