Mesaque Dju, David Tavares and José Gomes were called to action in the U19 National Team and helped Portugal to close its participation at the 46th edition of the Toulon International Tournament with a victory: 2-0 against China.

In preparation for the European Cup, which will take place in Finland between July July15 and 29, the national team has closed the tournament in the 9th place.

Benfica fought until the end for a different outcome in the last 16 of the Club World Cup, but after extra time they fell to Chelsea (1-4), thus ending their journey in the first edition of the competition in the United States of America. In a game that was interrupted in the 86th minute due to the threat of a thunderstorm and ended almost five hours after the kick-off, Di María leveled the score at 90'+5' (1-1), taking the match into 30 minutes of extra time, during which time the result hung in the balance for the English at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
