Two U19 National Champions of the last season, were promoted to the first team: The Last Man Afonso Jesus and the Goalkeeper André Correia.

The 19-year-old Afonso Jesus (6/1/1998), Portuguese, comes to the first team after being considered as the MVP of the last season.

“To become a senior is a dream, I've always had the ambition to be a professional player in this sport”, said to BTV.

André Correia, 19 years old (17/2/1998), was also excited with this promotion and he promises to work hard.

“It’s very good for me to represent this Club, it's a unique opportunity which I cannot describe. It's the club of my heart. I feel this jersey like no one. Now it's time to enjoy and improve every day", he declared to BTV.

Almeida Lima, Vice-president of Benfica, was confident about their success.

“According to their characteristics as athletes, we think that they are going to play many times, they are going to have many opportunities during the season, as they are, for sure, the future of Benfica's futsal”.

It was with a thrilling  3-4 victory over Sporting in Game 5 of the Liga Placard play-off final that Benfica won back the competition on Sunday, June 29, at the João Rocha Pavilion - after also winning Game 1 (4-4; 3-4 ap) and Game 4 (7-5 aet) of the competition.
