Get to know the UhrenCup

The pre-season starts with a match against Neuchâtel Xamax.

The UhrenCup is a Swiss tournament, created in 1962, with the aim to be an international event, with prestige in the sport's panorama.

In spite of having some difficulties in its way, the UhrenCup has captivated some big clubs. In the 1st edition two local clubs were present – Grenchen and Biel-Bienne – along with the Cercle Brugge, from Belgium and the Como, from Italy. The local Grenchen won the competition.

Always with Swiss teams in the "menu", teams such as Ipswich, Sparta Rotterdam, Karlsruher, Nímes, Bayer Leverkusen, Maccabi Tel Avive, Sochaux, Partizan Belgrade, FC Köln, Celtic or Borussia Dortmund were also present in the tournament.

The last team to celebrate the winning of the UhrenCup was Galatasaray. Benfica participates in the 2017/18 edition and faces Neuchâtel Xamax and Young Boys.
