SL Benfica and Vitória de Guimarães play on Saturday, 8:45pm, at Estádio Municipal de Aveiro.
02 August 2017, 10h42
Next Saturday marks the Benfica's 19th participation in the Super Cup, counting with six trophies at the moment (1980, 1985, 1989, 2005, 2014 and 2016).
This will be the first time that these two clubs will dispute this competition, a match with a lot of expectation.
If Rui Vitória is this close to make History, becoming the first coach to win the cup twice... there are also other numbers and records to be considered.
In case of winning the match, Luisão – currently with the same record as Veloso, with three trophies – may achieve his fourth Super Cup.
António Bastos Lopes, Bento, Carlos Manuel, Chalana, Diamantino, Nené, Pietra, Salvio, Samuel and Shéu have two Super Cups on their curriculum.
In relation to the current squad, Salvio, with two trophies, should be highlighted. André Horta, Cervi, Fejsa, Grimaldo, Jonas, Júlio César, Mitroglou, Pizzi, Jiménez and Samaris won it once.
