Facts are facts and the numbers do not lie! With the winning of the 7th Cândido Oliveira Super Cup, the Sport Lisboa e Benfica counts, now, with 82 official titles in its Honors, reinforcing, this way, the statute of the most successful club in the country.
As far as the international titles are concerned, we count with three: A Latin Cup (1949/50) and two Cups of the European Champions Clubs (1960/61 and 1961/62).
In Portugal: 36 National Championships, 26 Portuguese Cups, 7 Super Cups, 7 League Cups and 3 Championships of Portugal (the current Portuguese Cup).

The origin of the bow
At Sport Lisboa e Benfica, the fans’ bow is a tradition which has its roots in the Summer of 1970, and it persists. In a journey to Far East, the reds beat Japan by 4-1, and, after the final whistle, the Princes of Japan broke the protocol and entered the pitch to salute the players. Back to Portugal, and with the ban of Estádio da Luz, it was at Jamor, against CUF, that Benfica players thanked the fans with a bow for the first time.
