The defeat in Basel has made life difficult for Benfica in the Group A of the Champions League. The Brazilian centre-back highlighted that the result was misleading (5-0).

“It is a result hard to explain, in the first half the result was a bit unfair. I think that if the referee had awarded a penalty, the story of the match would have change. After being 3-nil down, things got more difficult, but we never stopped believing in our ideas”, he said, switching the focus to Sunday's match against Marítimo, for Liga NOS.

“Now it’s time to turn things around, be united and work to get out of this situation. This match is already in the past, now we have to focus on Marítimo", he stressed.

Jardel also praised his team mates in the defense.

“We know the quality of our squad, we have great players. The Youth training has revealed great player and it is important to have Rúben. We also have Lisandro and Kalaica”, he stated.
