Douglas looking forward to his debut

With his debut in sight, Douglas acknoloages he's "eager to enter the field".

"I'm ready!These last weeks have been important to get to know Benfica more thoroughly, to know the facilities, my team mates and the training methodology . I have a lot of ambition and a great will to get on the pitch and do what I always dreamed to do, "he told Record newspaper and BTV.

In the first half of the interview, the Brazilian speaks about the arrival at Benfica and the goals for the season. “We have a dressing room that make every player feel well when they arrive at the Club, because it has players who have been together for a long time and know how to deal with the newcomers. I just have to thank for everything and give back in the best way, that is to say, playing football”, he confessed.

The Brazilian right-back also approaches the moment the club is going through and says "it’s not a big deal". "It’s a phase we are going through, but I'm sure we will turn the situation around." He said with confidence. 

In the second half of the interview, the 27-year-old right-back remembers his spell at São Paulo and the beginning of his career as a player, talks about the dream of being called to the Brazilian national team and also reveals his reference in the football world.
