Luís Filipe Vieira: “We will remain together”

The Benfica Corporate Club Event was held on Wednesday. A special moment - gathered around 600 people - that has been repeated year after year and whose objective is to strengthen the link between Sport Lisboa e Benfica and its sponsors and partners in the most diverse areas.

The president, Luís Filipe Vieira, addressed those present in the commemorative dinner. In a short and assertive statement, the chairman of the Club praised the strategy and the path Benfica has embarked with its partners, he thanked them all and left a challenge: “Thank you all! We will remain together”, he said.

“I've been at Benfica for 17 years, 14 as president. After all this time, we can be very happy. We've grown a lot and few people would believe we would get where we are today, and all of this also had your contribution. They were just over 100, now there are more than 300. We are grateful to you, you have helped us grow and that is important. I want to tell you that we will continue in the same line, we want to grow more and, together, we will all be happy. We will continue on the winning path.”, stated Luís Filipe Vieira.

There were also present the governing bodies, the football first team squad, the coaching staff, legend of the Club, workers, partners, friends... a reunion of the Benfica family, as Domingos Soares de Oliveira referred.

“It is a special moment, a day in which Benfica and its partners get together, we value this initiative every year. There are 335 companies present here, a number that has been growing constantly and for us, they are partners, not customers. It is a privilege to bring this family together. It's a very important moment.”, explain Benfica's CEO to BTV.

Domingos Soares Oliveira put the moment experienced by Benfica into context: “On European scale there is a set of clubs with the best market practices and we are at that level. At the time of the Stadium’s construction, 14 years ago, we had less than a 100 partners, today we have 335 here present. It is a huge growth and this because we are within the best market practices”, he praised.

“In terms of business it is very relevant and, just to give one example, from our ten main partners, nine are foreigner companies. Benfica's network of contacts at the level of its partners is impressive when we look at the Club and its positioning in the world", concluded Domingos Soares de Oliveira.
