Ederson was in the Brazilian starting XI for the first time, in the last match of the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers, beating Chile by 3-0. At the end of the match, the goalkeeper was clearly excited with this great personal achievement and reminded Rui Vitória, his coach when playing at Benfica.

“There is one thing that I was always hearing from my former coach: 'An inviolable goal is half a way to the victory'. That's what we did and even scored three goals", declared the player to the "Confederação Brasileira de Futebol".

“It's very good to wear the jersey of the Brazilian national team, for the first time and right in my city [São Paulo]. I'm very happy with my debut and I'll keep working so that I can be called-up by Tite and meet the expectations", he promised.

Under the guidance of coach Bruno Lage, Benfica's professional football team trained on Tuesday morning, August 26, at Benfica Campus, in preparation for the second leg of the Champions League, against Fenerbahçe.
