Brazilian forward is very close to a milestone that only Cardozo has reached at Benfica.
23 October 2017, 12h18
Jonas calmed down the supporters at Estádio do Aves in the match against Desportivo, after converting two penalty kicks. The Brazilian forward is now the top scorer of Liga NOS – with 11 goals in nine games – and his increasingly closer to a milestone that, at Benfica, only Cardozo managed to reach.
It was 97th goal of the 33 year-old Brazilian forward with an eagle on his chest. After having surpassed Mats Magnusson, he his only three goals shy of becoming the second foreign player in Benfica's history to reach 100 goals, a miles stone that only one player dared to achieve: Óscar Cardozo. The Paraguayan forward played for the reds from 2007 to 2014, period in which he scored 171 goals, distributed through the Champions League, Europa League / UEFA Cup, I Liga, Portuguese Cup and League Cup.
