Manchester United, the next opponent of Benfica in Group A of the Champions League, won, away, by 0-2, and goes through the next stage of the EFL Cup. Against Swansea, Lingaard scored twice. 

Manchester United Line-up; Darmian, Lindelöf, Smalling, Daley Blind; Tuanzebe, Scott McTominay, Ander Herrera (Matic, 67’), Lingaard; Martial (Luke Shaw, 87’) and Rashford (Lukaku, 67’).

The FC Basel beat FC Rapperswil-Jona, of the second division, by 1-2 and goes to the quarter-finals of the Swiss Cup. 

Benfica goes to Old Trafford on Tuesday, October 31st, at 7:45 pm, to play the Matchday 4 of the Champions League.

All set!

On Tuesday, August 5, Benfica finalized preparations for the first leg of the third qualifying round of the Champions League against Nice. In the morning, the team held a training session at Benfica Campus, which also hosted the preview press conferences with Bruno Lage and Schjelderup.  After that, they headed to Beja, where they got a warm welcome from hundreds of Benfica fans before hopping on a charter flight. Benfica is already in France (they landed tonight) in Nice, where the game is set for 8:00 pm (Mainland Portugal time) on Wednesday, August 6.

Enthusiasm, passion, and unity marked the meeting between Benfica team and fans at Beja International Airport, from where the red delegation continued their journey to Nice. The ideal boost for the first leg of the third qualifying round of the Champions League.

Destination: Nice

On the afternoon of Tuesday, August 5, Benfica's professional football team departed from Beja International Airport on a charter flight bound for Nice, France. Upon arrival in Beja, the red delegation was warmly welcomed by many Benfica fans, with whom they socialized. At 8 pm (Portuguese time) on Wednesday, August 6, the Eagles face Nice at the Grand Stade de Nice in the first leg of the third qualifying round for the league phase of the Champions League.

Preparation for the clash in Nice

On Tuesday, August 5, Benfica's professional football team prepared at Benfica Campus for the match against Nice, the first leg of the third qualifying round for the league phase of the Champions League. Injured players Bah, Manu, Nuno Félix, and Bruma did not participate in training. Aktürkoğlu, due to a sprained right ankle, was another absentee. Tomás Araújo trained individually. Joshua Wynder, Rafael Luís, and João Rego joined Team B training.

On Monday, August 4, at Benfica Campus, Benfica's professional football squad continued their preparation for the clash against Nice, in the first leg of the third qualifying round for the league phase of the Champions League.  At 8 pm on Wednesday, August 6, the Reds will face the French team at the Grand Stade de Nice in France.
