Artur Moraes depois de uma vitória na Luz

On July 27th, 2011, Benfica hosted Trabzonspor in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League and won by2-0 (goals from Nolito and Gaitán).

That game was also the debut of Artur Moraes in the reds' goal at Estádio da Luz.

There are many memories that Artur Moraes retains from his time at the new Cathedral, he has made a career in four countries: Brazil, Italy, Portugal and Turkey.

“From what I played and saw, there is no doubt that Estádio da Luz is one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world, where you can feel the fans very close. Only does o have played at Estádio da Luz and the supporters carry over to the players. I lived many happy moments and today i can say that i miss being able to play a match there”, said the Chapecoense's goalkeeper to the Official Site of SL Benfica.

And which “moments” does Artur Moraes preserve until today? They are five and the Brazilian describes them.

“In my first derby against Sporting we won by 1-0. I made a save in the second half to a header from Elias inside the penalty box and I had the entire stadium chanting my name for the first time”, told the former number 1 from de eagles.

“I also remember a win against FC Porto in the semifinal of the Portuguese Cup… We won by 3-1, a goal from André Gomes in the final stages of the match ”, he said.

“Another great journey was the victory against Fenerbahçe in the semifinal of the Europa League in 2012/13. We need to win by a two-goal difference for Benfica to return to an European final, 23 years later”, remember Artur.

“Another great moments were the two national titles won in the stadium. To win a national title for Benfica is something that represents a lot in a player's career”, stated the former Benfica player.
