Switzerland and Greece are two of the national teams fighting for a place in the World Cup that will take place in Russia in 2018. 

In the first leg of the playoff, the Benfiquistas Seferovic (Switzerland) and Samaris (Greece) had different results. The forward, who played for 77 minutes, helped the Swiss national team win away in Northern Ireland by 0-1. 

On the other hand, the Greece midfielder saw Greece lose in Croatia by  4-1. Samaris played 62 minutes.

Benfica fought until the end for a different outcome in the last 16 of the Club World Cup, but after extra time they fell to Chelsea (1-4), thus ending their journey in the first edition of the competition in the United States of America. In a game that was interrupted in the 86th minute due to the threat of a thunderstorm and ended almost five hours after the kick-off, Di María leveled the score at 90'+5' (1-1), taking the match into 30 minutes of extra time, during which time the result hung in the balance for the English at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
