The Benfica Foundation, together with the football first team, continues to make dreams come true. This time it was Tiago's dream, at the age of 10, who suffer from Duchenne Syndrome, a rare disease, degenerative and hereditary that provokes muscular dystrophy.

The municipality of Montemor-o-Velho, from where Tiago is native, in partnership with the local "Casa do Benfica", helped fulfill the 10 year-old boy dream of meeting Benfica's first squad, specially Jonas, from whom he is a unconditional fan.

Last Saturday, he visited Estádio da Luz, for the first time, where he witnessed Benfica's triumph over Estoril. Before the match, he visited the Benfica Museum  – Cosme Damião.

Day 1 of a new journey

The 2025/26 preseason officially kicked off on Monday, July 14, with medical checks and physical tests between Hospital da Luz and Benfica Campus. In an atmosphere of reunions, renewed energy, and focus on what comes next, 28 players are present on this first day of work of Sport Lisboa e Benfica. Preparation will intensify on Tuesday, July 15, with the first pre-season training session scheduled for the morning, followed by another session in the afternoon at Benfica Campus.
