The B team of SL Benfica played, this Sunday, the 3rd and last round of the Group Stage (Group D) of the Premier League International Cup. The eagles beat Bayern (0-1), bidding farewell to the 2018/19 edition of the competition with a win.

At Electrical Services Stadium, Nuno Santos, at 69’, scored the match winner for the reds.

SL Benfica's starting XI: Daniel Azevedo, Tomás Tavares, Pedro Álvaro, David Zec, Sandro Cruz, Bernardo Silva, Edi Semedo, Gonçalo Ramos, Ivan Saponjic, Nuno Santos and Chris Willock.

Substitutes: Carlos Santos, José Gomes, Kevin Csoboth, Branimir Kalaica and Bernardo Dias “Benny”.

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.

A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
