Rafael Luís signs a youth football academy contract

Football Youth Academy Department U15 Caixa Futebol Campus

Rafael Filipe Gonçalves Soares Luís, a 14-year-old midfielder (18.02.2005), signed a youth football academy contract with Sport Lisboa e Benfica.

A member from the U-15 squad, Rafael Luís is in his 9^th season playing for the eagles and joined the club in 2010/11 (U-6), coming from Centro Shotokai Queluz.

In the current season, the young player has made 18 appearances and scored four goals in the AFL U-15 District Championship.

Benfica's 4-0 play against Arouca in the opening match of the Liga Bwin 2022/23 is a sample of the capacity and quality shown by Roger Schmidt's team on Friday night, August 5, in front of almost 54 thousand fans at Estádio da Luz. With 31 touches (passes) over a minute and 22 seconds was built the play that culminated in the Rafa's brace at 86'.
