Jorge Sousa, a referee from AF Porto, was appointed the Refereeing Committee of the Portuguese Football Federation to whistle the FC Porto-Benfica match, for matchday 24 of the Liga NOS, at 8:30 pm this Saturday at the Estádio do Dragão.
One month, six matches, five opponents and two competitions. It is another busy month for Benfica.
Goalkeepers: Odysseas, Svilar and Zlobin;
Defenders: André Almeida, Ferro, Corchia, Rúben Dias and Grimaldo;
Midfielders: Zivkovic, Pizzi, Gedson, Florentino, Gabriel, Cervi, Samaris and Rafa;
Forwards: Seferovic, João Félix, Jonas and Jota.
"It is a hugely important game, but it is not crucial. Crucial is to be consistent and we have been consistent in the last two months, and we must stay that way. We won in the reverse fixture, still with the coach Rui Vitória at the helm, but we not able to be consistent and that is why the opponent is one point ahead", claimed the Benfica coach in the preview of the clássico.
Benfica’s opponent plays at home and is on the back of three wins in a row; the players under Bruno Lage want to reach the 9th consecutive triumph in the National Championship and the table’s top spot.
