Signed by Barcelona in the cadet category, Marc Tolrà spent 13 years contractually linked to the Catalans – he was loaned out to CD Xota between 2013 and 2015. He helped Barça win a Spanish Cup and three Catalonia Cups.
He represented the Spain national team at the European Futsal Championships this year, giving his contribute for the silver medal. In the final against Portugal, Tolrà scored one of the two Spanish goals.
At the age of 27, the athlete bets on leaving his country for the first time, explaining this change in his career in exclusive statements to the Official Site of SL Benfica.
“When I left Barcelona, I was looking for an ambitious project to win national titles, but most importantly with a possibility of playing to win UEFA Champions League. Benfica is a world-renown club and I am very proud to be able to defend this symbol”, he said.
Tolrà finished with a wish: “I would to learn more about the history of the club to understand the great love that exist for Benfica.”
